Through the pages of history and present, women have defied expectations, gone against the grain of male-dominated societies and cultures, and rightfully claimed the recognition they merit. The applause rings for days when a woman triumphs despite all odds. For instance, Marie Curie, the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and remains the only person to have won Nobel Prizes in two different scientific fields—Physics and Chemistry. Kalpana Chawla, who first etched her name in space, being the first woman of Indian origin to fly to space. And most recently, Manu Bhakar, who became the first Indian woman shooter to win two Olympics medals in the 10m pistol event.
Garib, Yuva, Annadata, Nari – are the four pillars of Viksit Bharat 2047 and empowering each one of these four is crucial to materialize Viksit Bharat’s vision by 2047. Empowering women (Nari) is not only a social imperative but a strategic move for economic growth and long-term sustainable development. Viksit Bharat cannot thrive if half its population is left behind. Empowering women creates a ripple effect, influencing multiple dimensions of society and catalyzing progress across various sectors.
